Deep-Sky Planner 6 Special Edition Release Notes

Important: You should not install Deep-Sky Planner 6 Special Edition and Deep-Sky Planner 6 Full Edition on the same computer. Uninstall Deep-Sky Planner 6 Special Edition before installing Deep-Sky Planner 6 Full Edition, and be sure to backup all equipment, locations and observations (File | Backup) before uninstalling Deep-Sky Planner 6 Special Edition. You can use File | Restore to transfer your backed up data directly into Deep-Sky Planner 6 Full Edition.

If you want to save your equipment & observations when you upgrade:

Use File | Backup to save your equipment, locations and observations to a file.
Uninstall the Special Edition.
Important: When asked whether you want to remove all user files, answer NO; otherwise, your backup file made in step 1 will be deleted.
Install the full version of Deep-Sky Planner 6.
Use File | Restore to import your equipment and observations from the file created in step 1.

PC with Intel Pentium CPU or later (or a fully compatible and equivalent CPU) . 1GHz or faster on Windows 7 or 8.
32 or 64 bit edition of Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 including the latest Windows Updates from Microsoft
Internet Explorer 6 or later
128 MB RAM for Windows XP, 512 MB RAM for Windows Vista, 1 GB Windows 7 or 8 (32-bit), 2 GB Windows 7 or 8 (64-bit)
Installation requires about 64 MB of hard disk space
XGA (1024 x 768) or better with high color Windows XP or Vista , DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver Windows 7 or 8.
CD drive (if installing from CD)
a pointing device (mouse) is recommended but not required
Internet connection is highly recommended for some product features, but is not required
Serial port may be required for telescope connection; data cable is supplied separately by equipment manufacturer
USB port may be required for telescope connection; data cable is supplied separately by equipment manufacturer

Installation

Run Dsp6SEsetup.exe. The setup file is digitally signed by Knightware, LLC.
